PLEASE KEEP THIS LIST TO REFER TO THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR
Student/Parent Resources
Team 8C
Our team’s goal is to help all students succeed; working together is a vital component of that goal. Listed below are resources that you can use to monitor your child’s progress, find information about each of our classes, and contact information for each of the teachers on the team.
Team 8C Website: Our team website is where we post the daily agenda for each class as well as other announcements and helpful information. To access the team website go to www.team8c.com.
MiStar Parent Portal: You can reach this site by going to the parents link on the Hartland website (www.hartlandschools.us ) and clicking the MiStar tab. As a team, we update grades at least once a week, if not more often. Mondays are a good day to check current grades and look for possible missing assignments. There is also a link on the HMS website if you need to obtain a password.
MiStar Student Portal: Students can access their own grades through the Hartland website (www.hartlandschools.us) and clicking the Student Portal tab. Students who do not know their password can obtain this from any of their team teachers.
Student Assignment Book: In every class, students are required to copy the visual agenda for that day into their assignment book (planner.) This is a great place for students to keep track of assignments and tests and for parents to see what students are doing in school.
Contact the Teachers: Please feel free to contact us by phone or email with any questions or concerns.

Receive Text Message/Email Reminders: If you would like to receive reminders via text message and/or email about upcoming team events, you and your child may sign up with Remind101. Please follow the directions on the attached red sheet. After the initial sign up, you will receive important notifications throughout the school year from the team.
Science and English Organization: In order to stay organized, each student will keep binders for their science and English classes. Science will include a table of contents for every unit; this is something that the class will fill out together and will help to keep assignments in order.
Commitment to Reading: Students will be participating in “The Twenty Book Challenge” in their English class this year. They should carry a reading book with them to all of their core academic classes. In addition, students will be given SSR (silent, sustained reading) time each week in one of their core classes.
